Now the relationship God originally had with Adam and Eve has been reestablished and you can walk in perfect fellowship with Him.

Spiritual Re-birth

Let’s back up for a moment. When Adam and Eve died spiritually, the spirit of man died, became separated from God, and fell under the deception of Satan (Genesis 3). Now every person born into the world has an inherited sin nature. Romans 5:12 says, “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.”

Consequently, a spiritual re-birth (being “born-again”) is required to enter into heaven, as it brings you back to your original state. When you are born-again, you pass from death to life. John 5:24 says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”

Righteousness

At the point of being born-again you are no longer a sinner, but the righteousness of Christ. In your spirit you become righteous. It is not your own righteousness, but that of Jesus. Romans 3:23 reveals, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  That is why we all need Jesus. He perfects us. Hebrews 12:23 says, “To the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect.” Sin will never be imputed unto you again, because your sin was imputed to Jesus. He was judged for your sin. Give Him praise!

Resist Evil

It’s important to note that although God is not imputing sin to you, you still need to resist evil. James 3:16 says, “where there is envy and strife there is every evil work.” The enemy is still prowling around seeking your destruction. But in John 10:10 Jesus says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Jesus came to bring you abundant life, but you must resist the enemy and submit to God (James 4:7). Your choices will determine whether you will experience life or death… choose life.

God’s Love

God saved you for the purpose of enjoying an intimate relationship with Him for eternity, because He loves you. John 3:16 reveals, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

First John 4:18 says, “Perfect love casts out all fear.” If you could only understand how much God loves you, you wouldn’t walk in fear or doubt. I encourage you to continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). His love is never ending.
