What is Truth?

Do you still see yourself as an old sinner? Or as God sees you…a New Creation saint? For many Christians, there is condemnation, confusion and struggle because of lack of knowledge.  Rom 6:18 ….having been set free from sin, you become slaves of righteousness. Rom 5:7… “For he who has died has been freed from sin.” Rom 6:22 …But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification.

Can we really be sanctified? Is this truly possible? The answer is Yes! Sanctified means set apart and made holy for God. As Christians we are no longer children of the dark, living according to a sinful nature. We are now sons of God! We should reign in life by our new righteous nature. We have been redeemed and set free from the stronghold of sin and death! Understanding these truths will bring us revelation and cause us to triumph over sin, as well as empower us to live a victorious Christian life.

Alive unto God

When Adam (mankind) sinned, all men from that point on, were spiritually dead unto God.  Eph 2:1.... As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins.  God came with his mercy and Eph 2:5…made us alive to Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions. Before the time of Christ, the people were not born again. We were spiritually dead unto God and He related to us through rules and laws. Eph 2:4… But because of his great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.  By faith, we believe on Jesus, and  Jn 5:24… a supernatural process occurs where we pass from death unto life, we become united with Him in the spirit….Rom 5:5...But when we become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection. Rom 6:11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Jesus Christ.

Revelation

Our job as Christians is to Rom 6:11… “consider” or “reckon” ourselves alive to God. We have been placed in Him and are no longer apart from the life and the power of God. We now see Col 1:27-27…“the mystery that has been kept hidden for all ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints.” To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles, the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We must understand that this marvelous mystery now lives in us! We are no longer separated from His life, power, authority or ability. But now, 1 Jn 4:17… as He is, so are we in this world. (in the spirit) And through this reconciliation  Col 1:10 ..we have been given the fullness in Christ.  Gal 4:6...Because we are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts crying Abba Father.

This is such good news to us… Paul tells us in Rom 12:2…to renew our mind to the truth of Gods word so that we can be transformed into His image and thus prove it to our natural senses. Our carnal mind must be renewed by the supernatural word of God. His word is what causes transformation in our minds. We must read it, hear it, and meditate on it, for change to take place and manifest in the natural realm. Without mind renewal there is no change.

Fully Persuaded

Embracing the truth…. We take every thought captive that would try to make us doubt truth. Eph 1:18-20...tells us that we have the same power that rose Christ from the dead living inside us. This power and magnificent glory of Jesus now resides in our sinless spirits, and by faith we believe and operate in this (new man) identity. Eph 3:20 says “Now to him who is able to do immeasurable more than all that we can think or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” God’s power is desiring to work within in His children. Our born again spirits are raging with His mighty greatness! However, a lack of knowledge of these truths  and as well as unbelief, can prevent this truth from operating through us as designed.

Don’t be deceived by vain imaginations that rise up and exalt themselves above God’s word. Take every thought captive and make it obedient to the truth of what God has done for you and made available to you. We have overcome in Christ because we have been made sons of God.
